From her humble beginnings in a one-room cabin in the mountains of East Tennessee to becoming a global icon of country music and generosity, Dolly embodied hard work, deep faith, boundless kindness, and an unwavering love for this country. Her songs lifted spirits across generations. Her Imagination Library placed books in the hands of millions of children. Her philanthropy never sought the spotlight, yet it changed lives. She carried the best of Tennessee values—grit, grace, hospitality, and heart—onto the world stage and never forgot where she came from.
This recognition is well deserved and, in many ways, long overdue. Supporting Governor Lee’s effort shows pride in our heritage and genuine appreciation for those rare people who make America special. Dolly’s light still shines. Let’s stand behind this tribute and celebrate the enduring legacy of Tennessee’s favorite daughter.
